Director of Development
Scott Pernice joined as the Director of Development for the Modesto Gospel Mission in 2019. Prior, he served as Development Officer for a Bay Area non-profit from 2017-2019.
Scott grew up in the Central Valley and by age 21 became homeless due to an addiction to drugs and alcohol. At 25 Scott’s life was transformed through Christ while spending time in county jail. Once released, he made the decision to serve in ministry and help others find the hope that was also restored to him.
Scott went on to work in San Francisco as a sales associate for a multi-million dollar company, and worked his way up to become the Regional Sales Manager. From there, he took his skills and began working in development for a non-profit based out of San Jose, California. Scott met his wife in San Jose and they had their first child in 2019 of this year, which is when he moved his family back to the Central Valley to pursue ministry in the area in which he experienced his own homelessness. Scott is currently enrolled in his CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) certification and is pursuing a degree in Business Management.
