Dear Friends of the Mission,

The Modesto Gospel Mission exists on top of a firm foundation – the good news of Jesus Christ! His grace and His hope brings true life and love to those that are experiencing homelessness. Today, you impact a large community of people that are fighting destitution and despair through your generosity, time, and prayers. You have entered the fight to become the working hands and feet of Jesus Christ. I am certainly thankful that you have been so faithful in joining with God in His persistent pursuit of bringing hope to so many men, women, and children these past 71 years at the Modesto Gospel Mission.

I wanted to take this opportunity to share how you can get involved with what the Modesto Gospel Mission is doing this month as we head into our fall season. Coming up on Thursday, September 26th we will be hosting our Annual Fall Gala Concert – “A Night with Mac Powell” at the Gallo Center for the Arts in downtown Modesto. Some of you might know Mac Powell from being the lead singer of the recently retired band Third Day for over 25 years. During that time, Third Day transformed contemporary Christian music, selling over 10 million albums, earning 4 Grammy Awards, 24 Dove Awards, and 1 American Music Award.

Mac Powell & the Family Reunion will be bringing the house down as we stomp forward with a night filled with the sound of amazing music and the aroma and taste of fantastic local food from area restaurants and our very own chef, Carlos Martinez. Disciples in the Mission’s New Life 18-month Program will also be on hand to interact with guests and answer questions. This will be a memory that will be filled with fellowship and fun as we enjoy a wonderful concert and gear up for the fall months. If you have already secured your tickets for the event, we will see you there. Remember, 100% of the proceeds go to the Modesto Gospel Mission as we tackle poverty and homelessness one soul at a time.

BUT if you haven’t purchased tickets yet, please do so right away at the Gallo Center Box Office or online at www.galloarts.org while seats are still available. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on our biggest event of the year!

I am truly in awe of how God pours His love upon the Modesto Gospel Mission. This love is contagious, and it transforms the lives of all that experience it.

Thank you for depositing hope each time you give financially, or when you give of your time volunteering. It is through these acts of kindness that an unspoken faith builds in the over 225 men, women, and children that we shelter each night. You are making a major difference in our pursuit to bring about a better community. This starts with meeting the tangible needs, such as food and shelter, and it leads to the bigger transformation picture, reconciliation with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Will you prayerfully consider in the next few weeks how you can bring hope to those that are lost and may feel like giving up? Please be assured that your volunteer hours are much needed, and each financial gift you give is changing and impacting a life. If you would like to tour the Mission and discover how your gifts can be best used, please email me at jason@homelessmission.org
