Dear Friend of the Mission,

I’m thankful that God continues to move in the hearts of Modesto Gospel Mission donors, volunteers and supporters as we head into this season of thankfulness. Due to your faithfulness and generosity, the Modesto Gospel Mission provides a place for all to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal through our annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet & Bundle Up event.

This year’s event will be held on November 21st from 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm. It is during this wonderful event that the Mission provides a delicious Thanksgiving meal to the homeless and poor in our city, and blesses all guests with a coat, hat, scarf, and gloves to keep warm during the winter months. For many in our community, this time of year leaves individuals and families without a place to enjoy and experience Thanksgiving. The Mission has the privilege of serving thousands of our poorest neighbors during this season, providing each
with the love of Christ. We can only serve because of you, and your commitment of volunteer time and resources.

Although we are helping people throughout the year, we see a surge during this time of year as the weather turns wet and cold, and the holiday season approaches. This gives the Mission an unparalleled opportunity to demonstrate the love and grace of Jesus Christ in action. The Great Thanksgiving Banquet & Bundle Up event is a tangible representation of God’s gift as we get to meet real needs and share the truth of eternal salvation. I hope you will share in this opportunity with us this season. I want to wish you a very joyous Thanksgiving! Thank you for giving and volunteering. Without you we cannot meet the needs of the increased amount of men, women, and children we serve in the fall and winter.

As we give thanks to God for the many blessings that we enjoy, I pray you will join us in blessing others this Thanksgiving! We cannot do this without your volunteer help and support that allows the doors of the Modesto Gospel Mission to remain open. Please prayerfully consider being a monthly partner of Modesto Gospel Mission by visiting our website at modestogospelmission.org.

Again, thank you for making a difference and being a part of transforming lives through the power and love of Jesus Christ. Happy Thanksgiving!

“Last year in October, my 2 year old son and I came to stay at the Modesto Gospel Mission. Thanksgiving was amazing. We were fed turkey, with all the fixings, then we were blessed with a warm coat, a hat and a scarf. I am grateful that the Modesto Gospel Mission is here for us, I am nearly 1 year clean from methamphetamines thanks to all the love and support of the Modesto Gospel Mission.” – Bobbie P.
