Praise God! If you’re reading this, congratulations, you have made it to 2020. If I had to use a word to sum up my experience with Christ in 2019, it would be “present”. I experienced excruciating tragedy, untimely deaths, mangled and broken relationships, sadness and sleeplessness, but God has been present through it all.

Earlier this year my pastor did a study of Psalms 23, and verse 4 of Psalms 23 talks about walking through the valley of the shadow of death. 2019 felt like the shadow of death to me. It seemed like the end of all the things that I held dear, but God was still present. He held me close, listened to my pain, and didn’t convict me for my moments of faithlessness. God has truly proven to me that He is faithful and worthy of all praise.

2 Thessalonians 3:33 states, “But the Lord is faithful. He will strengthen you. He will guard you from the evil one.

If we have made it this far, then I am sure there is more for us to do. There is more Gospel to proclaim and more of the Lord’s work to complete. My prayer is that we can live in the light of that verse, trusting that Christ is who He says He is.
