There are few things that cheer us up like good news. Good news can be anything from passing a test to getting a dream job, but no matter what, experiencing good news is amazing. Good news is even better in difficult situations; when a bad diagnosis becomes a curable one, or when a strained relationship is finally repaired.
As believers in Christ we have the power to empower and encourage our world by telling them the good news.
This good news is found in 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.“
This is not just good news, but this is the good news.
This good news is given context in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Without the death and resurrection of Christ we are left to sin and therefore left to death.”
Because we have experienced the good news, it is our responsibility to share it with the world. Matthew 5:13-15 encourages us, telling us that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
So share the good news and continue to be a city on the hill that cannot be hidden.
