Your less-than-ideal neighborhood, your job that doesn’t pay enough, the school you don’t like, the pandemic you didn’t see coming, the country you live in…these things all have one thing in common – you. We are undoubtedly in places that we do not want to be in right now.
Waiting to move on in your career, waiting to buy a house, waiting for the world to return to some sense of normalcy. However, what if we as the body of Christ were to reconsidered our position? What if we were placed in a specific neighborhood, at a specific job, during this time for a reason? What if Christ has designated you for such as time as this. Your talents, gifts, and treasure to be used for kingdom glory.
Esther 4:14 says “For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
What if we began to view all the world’s calamities as opportunities? Instead of waiting for the perfect situation to be of help, what if we sought out ways to help? Simultaneously forfeiting our desire to be recognized.
As we continue moving forward, may we actively seek ways to love and care for others. May we see the mundane, frustrating, and even unfair as opportunities to serve Christ by serving others.
