Hello Friends of the Mission,

As we head into the last days of summer, we continue to be grateful that we have been able to reopen after the pandemic. The summer is always a special time for us and our youth center as we extend our hours in order to provide local youth a safe space to hang out during the summer months. Our Youth Center plays a critical part of sharing Christ’s love to the community, providing these children with biblically-backed studies and helping to empower them as well as promoting diversion from gangs.

August also means that we just finished our Kicks 4 Kids campaign! We would like to thank Big Valley Grace Community Church for their partnership in making this event happen! Together, we were able to give over 600 children new pairs of shoes!

Our Youth Center has become a staple in our prevention efforts in the community. Our Youth Center manager, Cristina Green, would love to share with you more about what’s going on.

“During COVID, Youth Center staff, community volunteers, local churches and donors worked reconstructing and upgrading not only the building, but our youth programs as well. These changes allowed us to increase capacity while focusing on the child holistically. Our new changes help to provide these kids with case management as well as physical, emotional, and spiritual help. We recently implemented a new curriculum that focuses on biblical values. We are excited for what’s in store for the 75+ youth that visit us on a weekly basis, and would love for you to come down and volunteer!”

August is also a sign that our annual Fall Gala is just around the corner! We promise it will be an event that you won’t want to miss! This year, Phil Wickham is bringing the worship, and you will have the unique opportunity to learn about all of the different programs offered here at the Mission, as well as hear first-hand testimonies of lives that have been changed.

Tickets are on sale NOW and they are selling quickly! To learn more about the gala, purchase your tickets, or become a family sponsor for the event, please visit www.mymission.org.

As always, we would like to thank you for your incredible support throughout the year. As an organization we never accept government funding that may alter the way our programs operate or that would ask us to remove the Gospel component from our campus. We understand that true life-change happens through a relationship with Jesus Christ, and we are simply a vessel He uses. This means your donations have been critical to what we do, so again THANK YOU!

God bless,

Jason Conway, Executive Director

God’s Strength:

What does your week look like? Do you have responsibilities that you need to do, but you don’t feel up to the task? Are your spiritual mountains too high to climb over? Is your path too stormy? What does God want from you this week? God wants to be with you, and in you, in “all things.” We don’t have to do it on our own-He promises us His strength! Believe it or not…God is all-powerful and true to His Word!
